Copyright & DMCA Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-08
DishBinder users can share recipes and cookbooks publicly. We respect the rights of recipe authors, photographers and publishers, and we respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).
1. Designated agent
Send copyright notices to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent, Duskfield Studios LLC2108 N St Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816, USA
Email: support@duskfieldstudios.com (subject “DMCA notice”)
U.S. Copyright Office DMCA designated-agent registration: DMCA-1082522.
For a quick report you can also use the Report link at the bottom of any shared recipe or cookbook, choosing “Copyright infringement”. A formal notice still needs the details below.
2. What a notice must include
- Your physical or electronic signature (or that of someone authorised to act for the owner).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
- The DishBinder page link(s) of the material you want removed.
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
3. What we do
When we receive a complete notice we remove or disable the shared page, and we tell the user who shared it, including a copy of the notice.
4. Counter-notice
If your shared content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, send our agent a counter-notice with:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the U.S., any district where Duskfield Studios LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice.
We send the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice.
5. Repeat infringers
We close, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices.
6. Sharing recipes you didn’t write
Only share recipes you created. Recipes imported from websites, videos or books are for your personal use and can’t be shared publicly from DishBinder.
